When I returned, I shifted into studying massage therapy and herbal medicine in Austin. I received my 500 hour certification at Texas Healing Arts Institute while studying western herbalism with two local herbalists.
Throughout the beginning of my two years of massage practice, I found rock climbing and studied deep tissue work in a massage clinic alongside physical therapists. After pushing my body in massage and fitness, I turned to study energy work and find balance through yoga. Mind and spirit wanted to evolve with body practices.
MEDICINE PATH
+++
Christianity was the framework of faith in my family, but when I began going to Lakota Native American sweat lodges and ceremonies as a young woman, I felt deeply touched into the spirit realm. I found solace in the traditions that honor a close connection to nature.
Through traumatic family dynamics in my college years, I decided to travel and do some soul searching. I went to New Zealand to backpack and slept on the ground for six months. It completely changed my life! Living so close with earth, I slowed down, devoured spiritual books to quench my soul thirst, and immersed myself in beauty and adventure. Something within me had profoundly shifted.

SPIRIT CALLS
Growing up in a family that was steeped in values and privilege of western medicine, I first learned of health and how to treat unwellness within the parameters of those cultural lens. Something felt fragmenting for me. I somehow knew that the whole of the body, spirit, mind were missing.
As a youth, I was drawn to sports and an athletic path, as it brought me closer to understanding, feeling, and expressing the life force that ran through me. In my early teens, I was introduced to massage therapy and found immense relief and remembrance in this ancient healing treatment.

BEGINNING
MY STORY

+++
Traveling in our camper van for seven months, my husband and I explored rock climbing and different parts of the country, finally landing in South Lake Tahoe. I was uniting my growing knowledge and expression of body with the close connection of earth that was so fulfilling.
I got initiated into the depths of Vedic wisdom when I was in a rock climbing accident in 2015. After multiple surgeries, I was drawn to Ayurvedic cooking and gentle yoga to regain my strength and holistic wellbeing. I was faced with the physical, emotional, and identity challenges that come with the loss of a finger, especially as an athlete. Eventually, I came to understand this as a great gift in my evolution.
THE ACCIDENT
Becoming a mother was my biggest initiation by far. Through the miraculous journey of pregnancy and into an unexpected c-section birth, I learned to honor a blend of western and eastern medicine, as my daughter's and my life were saved by both.
My postpartum was so expansive in love for my new daughter, yet I struggled with anxiety: to feed my child and feel normal amidst the sleepless nights and absence of my partner fighting fires.
Over the years, I’ve learned to weave this wisdom into my life, sometimes in cycles, other times in consistency and determination to heal.
MOTHERHOOD
My own trials and traumas have naturally guided me to return to this ancient wisdom of embodiment. And along the journey, I knew deep within me that this was the most authentic gift I could offer the world: to assist in other's journeys of transformation that resonate with the energetics of my own.
As the healing comes through in the communion of our souls' field, the modalities I offer act to assist mind, body, spirit coherence and homecoming.
White Lotus Healing Arts was born in 2017 to facilitate healing and transformation in my community of women, mothers, friends, and other souls that are magnetized to the energy I carry.

MY APPROACH

HEALING PHILOSOPHIES
+ We are sovereign divine beings have a human experience.
+ Every person’s journey is incredibly unique, and the more we can accept and follow the path of our hearts the closer we are to our divine spark.
+ The body has an innate intelligence that heals itself when we allow the flow and connection to occur.
+ Through healing we deconstruct the beliefs and layers that obstruct this remembrance of our true nature.
+ The universe always provides.
+ Our minds are an integral part of healing.
+ Our beliefs matter, our digestion of our environment and what we ingest influences our beliefs.
+ Peace and wholeness are our natural state.
